Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 22: Encouraged by people’s response during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Maulana Azad (MA) Stadium, the BJP has now intensified its campaign for the crucial 2024 parliamentary elections in the strategically significant region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at MA Stadium was virtually the launching of the election campaign in J&K where the party has set a target to improve its tally of 2019 Parliamentary elections.
Sources said that the joining of a large number of workers from Kashmir and the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri enhanced the confidence of the BJP leadership to open its account in Kashmir Valley.
As reported earlier, the BJP is focusing on the newly carved Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary constituency where Pahari-speaking people and Gujjar-Bakerwals are a deciding factory.
Sources said that after the Prime Minister’s impressive rally at Jammu, prominent BJP leaders including central ministers are scheduled to visit different parts of Jammu and Kashmir to further boost the tempo.
While as the opposition parties are still discussing seat-sharing arrangements, the BJP has already completed the first phase of the election campaign during Viksit Bharat Yatra.
The coming Lok Sabha elections are very crucial for the BJP because it would be the first major elections after the abrogation of Article 370.
After the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as a central political focus. The proactive approach of the BJP in reassessing its preparations underscores a commitment not only to sustain but to strengthen its influence in this critical region.
