Training session for BCWPC under mission VATSALAYA conducted

JAMMU, Feb 23: A comprehensive training session aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Block Level and Village Level Child Welfare and Protection Committees (BCWPC) under Mission VATSALAYA was convened at the Conference Hall, Dak Bangalow in Nowshera. The event witnessed active participation from members of the aforementioned committees, along with representatives from various sectors.
The training initiative was jointly organized by the National Development Foundation (NDF) Jammu/Rajouri, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit Rajouri and the Tehsil Social Welfare Office Nowshera. Over sixty individuals, including esteemed guests such as Suresh Choudhary, a CWC Member from Rajouri, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Kabir Hussain, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, representatives from Block Health, Mission Poshan, Lambardars, children representatives, and former Sarpanches, actively engaged in the training sessions.
The training was facilitated by resource persons from NDF, namely Sunny Kumar, Programme Manager, and Amit Kundal, Program Officer. Tehsildar Nowshera, Ram Pal Sharma, presided over the program and extended gratitude to the National Development Foundation for selecting Nowshera for strengthening the BCWPC and VCWPC. He urged committee members to wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to fortifying the child protection mechanisms within Tehsil Nowshera.
Rajiv Khajuria, President of the National Development Foundation, provided insightful guidance to the participants regarding their roles and responsibilities within the BCWPC and VCWPC. He commended the proactive stance taken by District Magistrate Rajouri, Om Prakesh Bhagat, for convening the inaugural meeting of the District-level Child Welfare and Protection Committee. Khajuria emphasized the significance of alternative care measures such as adoption, foster care, and sponsorship. He encouraged committee members to actively contribute to fostering a child-friendly environment within their respective blocks and villages. Additionally, he assured technical support from the NDF team to both VCWPC and BCWPC.
