BLSKS commemorates Birth Anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji with Musical Extravaganza

JAMMU, Feb 23: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production, celebrated the 647th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji with great fervor and traditional zeal. The occasion was marked by the staging of the 405th edition of the Friday series Dogri musical play titled "KATHOTI MAIN GANGA," depicting the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji. The event took place at the open-air theatre, Durga Bhawan Janipur Jammu. The mega musical play, written, produced, and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, former Regional Director of the Song and Drama Division under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, captivated the audience with its artistic brilliance. Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor, provided musical assistance for the production. Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, representing the Health Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government, inaugurated the program as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests including Sh. V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of the Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director of the Health Department, Jammu and Kashmir Government, J.K. Raina, Producer Director of JK Films, and Mukesh Singh, a prominent media personality in Jammu and Kashmir, graced the occasion as guests of honor.
The program commenced with soulful renditions of devotional songs by the artists and students of BLSKS, invoking the spiritual essence of Guru Ravidas Ji's teachings. The musical play received immense appreciation from the audience, with the Chief Guest commending the organizers for their efforts in conducting such awareness programs effectively. Dr. Anju Dogra extended her heartfelt wishes to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Ravidas Jayanti, urging people to emulate the ideals of the great saint. Dr. M.L. Dogra, in his welcome address, acknowledged the significant contributions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the 647th Birth Anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas in Varanasi. He elucidated on the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji, emphasizing his role in the Bhakti movement and as the founder of the Ravidassia religion.
