central leadership”, a source in the party said.
Sources said that BJP is looking for a strong and potential candidate for the Srinagar-Budgam Parliamentary seat so the party is trying its best to convince this leader to accept the proposal.
While a number of strong candidates have expressed their desire to contest on the newly carved Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary constituency, party is hopeful that Muzaffar Hussain Beigh will contest election on Baramulla Lok Sabha as Independent candidate.
“Biggest challenge before the party is to select a potential candidate on Srinagar-Budgam Lok Sabha seat”, sources said. Important to mention here that after granting of Scheduled Tribe status to the Pahari ethnic community, a large number of prominent leaders from this community have joined the party. Majority of the Pahari leaders who have joined the BJP were associated with the National Conference.
