GDC Thannamandi kick starts Winter Camp

JAMMU, Feb 26: Government Degree College Thannamandi proudly inaugurated a week-long NSS Special Camp with an inspiring ceremony, setting the stage for impactful community engagement and service. The inaugural session of the camp was organized under the able patronage of Dr. Farooq Ahmed, Principal of the College. The inaugural event held at Government Degree College Thannamandi, was graced by the esteemed presence of all teaching staff of the college, NSS Volunteers and Adnan Aqib Head Boy of the college who also conducted the proceedings of the program. Prof. Asif Ajaz Lone, the NSS Programme Officer, extended a warm welcome to all the faculty members and NSS volunteers, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the attendees.
During the ceremony, Prof. Asif Ajaz Lone welcomed everyone involved in making the NSS Special Camp a reality. His words echoed the college's commitment to promoting social responsibility and youth empowerment through initiatives like the NSS Special Camp.
The NSS Special Camp, slated to run for a week, promises to be a platform for students to actively engage in various community service activities, thereby contributing to the betterment of society. During the program former NSS program officers Dr. Nazakat Hussain, Dr. Naseem Ahmed & Dr. Ather Aziz shared their experiences as NSS Program officers and guided the NSS volunteers about the various activities to be conducted during the winter camp.
On the very 1st day of the camp, awareness lecture on national service scheme and its benefits was delivered by Dr. Naseem Ahmed. Others present in the program included Dr. Abdul Haq Naimi HOD Urdu, Dr. Ashaq Raza Coordinator IQAC, Dr. Shiraz Ahmed HOD Zoology, Rakesh Puri Physical Director, Prof. Supriya Gupta HOD Computer Applications, Dr. Ather Aziz HOD mathematics, Dr. Gowher Iqbal HOD Arabic besides others. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Asif Ajaz Lone.
