Shiksha Niketan Sr Sec School hosts successful philately workshop

JAMMU, Feb 26: Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, located in Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, played host to a captivating Philately Workshop conducted by the Department of Posts, India, Office of Assistant Superintendent of Posts, Gandhi Nagar Sub Division, Jammu, on the 23rd of February, 2024. The workshop was designed to instill awareness and appreciation for philately among the students, while also shedding light on the prestigious Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojna Scholarship Program 2023. Students from Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School enthusiastically participated in both Level-I Philately written Quiz and Level-II Project work for the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojna Scholarship Program 2023. The dedication and effort of several deserving students were duly recognized, with Milanpreet Kour, Pihu Gupta, and Anandita from 9th Grade being selected for the scholarship. Each selected student was awarded a scholarship of Rs. 6000 under the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojna for the year 2023-24. In addition to the students' achievements, the workshop featured motivating lectures by the Worthy Principal of Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School, Rameshwar Mengi, and the Assistant Superintendent of Post Office, Ravi Kumar. Both speakers urged the students to continue participating in such initiatives and to explore the enriching world of philately.
As part of the event, Philately kits were distributed to all students, allowing them to delve deeper into the hobby, while refreshments were provided to enhance their overall experience. The workshop proved to be a resounding success, with students actively engaging and learning about the fascinating realm of philately. Beyond celebrating the accomplishments of the selected students, the workshop served as a platform to inspire and educate the entire student body of Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School about the art and significance of philately. Such initiatives not only enrich students' knowledge but also foster a sense of curiosity and appreciation for diverse interests and hobbies.
