| JCC Banks appreciates recovery efforts | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24- The Jammu Central Cooperative Bank has realized Rs.299.15 lakhs as default money out of Rs.538.73 lakhs against Non-performing assets. This was stated at a meeting held with Mohinder Singh Chairman in chair to review the recovery performance of the bank. Surjit Singh, Haji Mahad Joo and Romesh Chander Verma, Directors of the bank, besides Arun Bakshi, Managing Director, C.M. Arora, Deputy General Manger (Banking) and M.C. Dutta, assistant general manager (Incharge recovery) also attended the meeting. Dutta apprised the meeting that with the concerted efforts of the recovery team and the staff concerned the bank has been to realize an amount of Rs. 299.15 lakhs out of Rs. 538.73 lakhs as default amount. The meeting appreciated the efforts put forth by the recovery team and desired that with the optimum pressure for recoveries, the defaults should be brought to zero level by the end of March this year. Chairman was of the view that though in the hilly districts like Rajouri, Poonch, Doda and Udhampur, it is an uphill task for the staff to cope with the challenges but the district managers should motivate and guide the staff to achieve the targets and for this purpose they shall not even hesitate to camp in the branches where they adjudge the need to do so. However, all the district, Managers and Incharge recovery team assured the authorities that the direction of the bank in this behalf shall be complied in letter and spirit and utmost efforts shall be made to bring the level of default to zero point.
