Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 27: In a commendable operation, the Police Sub Division Nagrota successfully intercepted multiple vehicles engaged in bovine smuggling within its jurisdiction. The vigilant police personnel stationed at Naka Ban Toll Plaza apprehended three trucks laden with bovine animals and thwarted an attempt to transport them unlawfully.
The first vehicle, bearing registration number JK03J/3738 and driven by Shafqat Ali, was found transporting 14 bovine animals. Similarly, another truck with registration number JK13C/8175, operated by Asif Ali, was discovered loaded with 14 bovine animals. Additionally, a third truck, identified by registration number JKO3G/4627 and driven by Zakir Ahmed Paddar, was seized while carrying 18 bovine animals. In total, 46 bovine animals were rescued from these vehicles by the vigilant officers of PS Nagrota.
Moreover, the alert patrolling party of PP Manwal intercepted a dumper with registration number JK19A-0884 en route from Surinsar towards Jindrah/Kishanpur. Upon inspection, it was shockingly revealed that the dumper was transporting 08 bovine animals in a cruel and merciless manner, without any valid permission from the District Magistrate. The animals were promptly rescued, and the vehicle was seized, although the driver managed to flee the scene.
The police have taken serious cognizance of this incident, underscoring their commitment to combatting illegal activities such as bovine smuggling. This successful operation not only prevented animal cruelty but also upheld the rule of law, sending a strong message to those involved in such illicit endeavors.
