| Alleged drug peddler’s bail plea rejected | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24- The 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Vinod Chatterji Koul today rejected the bail application of Virender Singh resident of Simbal Camp RS Pura who is facing trial along with his wife u/s 4/25 Arms and 8/15 NDPS Act. While dismissing the bail application the 2nd Additional Sessions Judge said that out of 18 witnesses cited by the prosecution, statements of eight witnesses have been recorded while one witness has been declared hostile. The offence in which accused is involved is a serious which carries capital punishment and thus dismissed the bail application. According to the prosecution case on July 7, 2007 the accused were caught with poppy straw 63 KG, 1000 Proxevon Capsules and 60 Rexcof and a case was registered and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court of law where the wife of accused was granted bail.
