GDC Kathua hosts thrilling interdisciplinary quiz competition

KATHUA, Feb 28: In a vibrant celebration of National Science Day, the Science Club at Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua orchestrated an electrifying Interdisciplinary Quiz Competition, epitomizing the fervor for scientific knowledge among the student community. Under the esteemed patronage of Principal Prof. Seema Mir, the event unfolded with grace and enthusiasm, symbolizing the college's commitment to nurturing scientific aptitude.
Led by Prof. R. K. Pandita, Convener of the Science Club and Head of Department of Zoology, the competition witnessed a convergence of intellect from various scientific disciplines. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Prof. Seema Mir, alongside senior faculty members, marked the inauguration of the event, setting the tone for an intellectually stimulating competition.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Seema Mir lauded the efforts of the organizing committee and applauded the active participation of students. She underscored the importance of such events in fostering a spirit of inquiry and innovation among the youth, urging them to persist in their quest for knowledge with unwavering zeal.
Dr. Shiv Kumar, in collaboration with Prof. Shradha Anand, orchestrated the proceedings with precision, ensuring adherence to rules and guidelines. Four teams, each comprising eight students proficient in fields ranging from Physics to Biotechnology, engaged in riveting rounds of questioning, showcasing their analytical prowess and domain expertise.
A distinguished panel of judges, including Prof. Jagdish Lal, Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, and Prof. Ravinder Kour, meticulously evaluated the performances, ultimately declaring Team B as the triumphant ensemble. Led by Archana, Dishpreet, Roshini, Nishant Sharma, Khitiz Sharma, Shruti Sharma, Anmol Sharma, and Meenakshi, Team B's victory underscored not only their academic brilliance but also their cohesive teamwork under pressure.
In a gracious gesture, Prof. R. K. Pandita extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants, organizers, and faculty members for their unwavering support in making the event a resounding success. The collaborative efforts of Prof. Pawan Kumar, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sharma, and Dr. Daya Ram, among others, were instrumental in ensuring the event's seamless execution.
Among the dignitaries gracing the occasion were Prof. Yash Pal, Prof. Kulbir Singh, Prof. Arvind Kumar, and Prof. Jagdish Lal, whose presence added luster to the event, inspiring students to continue their pursuit of scientific excellence.
