GDC RS Pura commemorate National Science Day

RS PURA, Feb 28: In a collaborative effort, the Science Club joined hands with the NSS Unit at Government Degree College, R.S. Pura, to mark the significance of National Science Day on February 28th, 2024. Under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Rajni Bhagat, Principal of the college, and the dedicated supervision of Dr. Neeru Sawhney, Convener of the Science Club, the day unfolded with a series of engaging activities.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Sawhney, who highlighted the remarkable contributions of Dr. C.V. Raman to the field of science and underscored the importance of indigenous technology for the development of Bharat.
Attended by approximately thirty students and faculty members, the event featured a spirited speech and poster making competition, adding a competitive edge to the celebration. The judging panel comprised of esteemed faculty members including Prof. Anju Kumari, Prof. Meeshu Pandita, and Dr. Ankita, who meticulously evaluated the participants' submissions.
In the poster making competition, Sabneet Kour clinched the coveted 1st position with her exemplary artwork, while Preeti Choudhary and Taniya Verma secured the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, showcasing their creative prowess. Certificates of appreciation were graciously distributed among all participants, acknowledging their efforts and enthusiasm. The seamless proceedings of the program were efficiently conducted by Smita Sharma, an enthusiastic NSS volunteer, while the formal expression of gratitude was extended by Dr. Hari Singh, wrapping up the event on a note of camaraderie and appreciation.
The celebration of National Science Day at GDC R.S. Pura not only honored the legacy of scientific luminaries but also fostered a spirit of innovation and creativity among the student community, echoing the college's commitment to nurturing future leaders in science and technology.
