Drug awareness programme held by Bishnah Police

JAMMU, Feb 28: In an endeavor to combat the growing issue of drug abuse, a Drug Awareness Programme was recently organized at SIRAS School Bishnah by the Jammu Police, under the initiative Operation Pathshala.
The event, graced by SP Hqrs Irshad Hussain Rather as the chief guest, witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and SHO PS Bishnah Inspr Abid Hussain, alongside various staff members of the school.
SP Hqrs Jammu delivered an insightful speech, shedding light on the perils of drug addiction, governmental strategies to tackle it, and the legal ramifications enforced by the police against suppliers. Emphasizing the collective responsibility in fostering a drug-free society, he urged participants to raise awareness among their families and communities. He underscored the pivotal role of citizens in assisting law enforcement agencies in curbing drug trafficking and encouraged students to report any suspicious activities in their vicinity.
Furthermore, SP Hqrs Jammu stressed the significance of diverting energy towards sports activities for personal development. He elucidated that engaging in sports not only promotes physical well-being but also nurtures mental resilience and discipline. Warning against the insidious nature of addiction, he urged students to steer clear of substance abuse and contribute actively to the eradication of drug menace from society.
