| Stitching rates at Police Welfare Centres upped | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24 - Director General of Police (DGP) Mr. Kuldeep Khoda today issued orders of revision of stitching rates of various police apparels as also other clothes with immediate effect. These apparels are being stitched by women workers at various Police Welfare Centres across the State.
Giving details, the DGP disclosed that latest automatic stitching machines have been installed in the police welfare centres at Srinagar and Jammu, replacing the old ones. This measure has been taken to improve the efficiency of the workers besides helping them to achieve the targets well in time.
Mr. Khoda said that during the recent police darbars held at various police welfare centres, it was observed that the rates for stitching of clothes at various centres needs to be revised as the existing rates were fixed way back in 2000. Accordingly, Police Headquarters (PHQ) constituted a Committee to examine the matter and redress the genuine demand of lady workers. He further said that in view of the inflation in the market, it was decided to revise the rates under which 2 to 3 times enhancement has been made on the recommendations of the Committee constituted for the purpose.
The DGP said that about 300 widows of police personnel and other lady workers working in various Police Welfare Centres in the State would be benefited by the revised rates.
