DDC flags off Run for Fun to promote anti-Drug abuse campaign

REASI, Feb 29: General Zorawar Singh Degree College Reasi, in collaboration with District Youth Sports and Services Reasi and Education Department, organized /Run for Fun against Narcotics with the slogan Say No to Drugs, at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium Reasi.
The event aimed to not only promote health and fitness among the youth but also to provide a platform for students to showcase their athletic abilities and sportsmanship.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students in the schools and colleges, who joined the run with great energy and zeal, making it a spirited affair.
The Youth Conclave Run for Fun was flagged off by the District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Reasi highlighted the grave issue of drug abuse among the youth. He emphasized the need for parents to be vigilant and monitor their children’s activities to ensure they stay away from drugs, as drug abuse can severely hamper the future of the youth.
DDC Mahajan urged all students to actively participate in sports activities, stating that sports can play a pivotal role in keeping the youth away from drugs. He also commended the efforts of the district administration and the Police Department in their relentless pursuit to make Reasi a drug-free district.
Furthermore, DDC Vishesh Mahajan urged all eligible students to cast their votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, emphasizing the importance of a strong government for the betterment of society.
District Youth Services and Sports officer Tarseem Singh, Principal Degree College Parbinder Kour, Principal GGHSS Sushma Mawa, Teachers and students were present on the occasion.
