Vishwa Bharati celebrates Umang, National Science Day

JAMMU, Feb 29: Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School Akalpur Morh, Jammu celebrated a cultural programme 'Umang" and "National Science Day" in the school premises with strong zeal and zest.
The programme was conducted in two phases. Cultural programme "Umang" was celebrated in a well decorated auditorium by the students and teachers of primary wing. Programme commenced with 'Welcome Song' by the children of class first and followed by a series of cultural items - Kashmiri song, fashion show, dance and skit. Some students delivered speech in Hindi and English. The 'punjabi dance' and 'kesri ke laal' enthralled everyone present there. The whole auditorium was jam-packed with the students, teachers and the parents of the students.
Bharati Koul a social activist was the Chief Guest and Dr. S.K.Koul secretary Vishwa Bharati J&K Units was the 'Guest of honour' on the occasion who addressed the students and eulogized the teachers and students for their efforts in preparing a wonderful programme. Ms & Mr. Virender Dembi, renowned educationist were the special guests of the occasion. In the end prizes were distributed to the meritorious students of different activities held during the year, by the chief guest; school principal Annapurna Koul, Secretary Dr. S.K. Koul and the special guest. The chief guest in her speech applauded the efforts of the teachers as well as the students. She also congratulated the anchor of the day Shoba Suri for her interactive involvement with the parents during the programme. The whole programme of the first phase concluded with the 'vote of thanks' by Manjri Koul and chanting of national anthem.
In the second phase National Science Day was celebrated with huge scientific taste and temperament on the part of science teachers and students of the school. Under the sublime guidance of the science teachers, the students had skilfully prepared the various science projects based on a variety of scientific researches and experiments with compatibility to their scientific aptitude.
Various stalls were established in the school ground where students displayed their respective projects and models. Dr. Prof . Rakesh Kumar Koul, Principal Government Degree College Marh was the Chief Guest for the Science Day celebration who along-with Dr.S.K. Koul, Madam Principal Annapurna Koul and Vice Principal Sameer Bhat interacted with the students regarding the application and the working of their projects. Responding to their questions students answered wittily and explained the purpose and utility of their projects with satisfying expression.
Chief guest in his speech appreciated the efforts made by the students and the faculty members. He further advised them to imbibe scientific aptitude and excel in the field of science.
Dr. S.K. Koul and Principal Annapurna Koul extolled the science teachers and students for their endeavour to organise the whole event so magnanimously for the enhancement of scientific interest among students.
