JAMMU, Feb 29: On National Science Day, students from Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana had an extraordinary opportunity to explore the marvels of science at the prestigious exhibition organized by the Survey of India held on 28th Feb, 2024. The event showcased the nation's rich scientific heritage and celebrated the pioneering spirit of Indian scientists.
National Science Day commemorates the discovery of the Raman Effect by Nobel laureate Sir C.V. Raman in 1928. In honor of this significant contribution to science, the Survey of India hosted an immersive exhibition designed to inspire the next generation of innovators and explorers.
Led by passionate scientists and experts from the Survey of India, the exhibition featured a wide range of captivating displays, interactive demonstrations, and informative presentations. From geospatial technologies to cartography, students had the opportunity to delve into various aspects of earth sciences and geographic exploration.
Through engaging exhibits and quiz competition, students gained insights into the role of surveying and mapping in addressing real-world challenges, such as urban planning, disaster management, and environmental conservation. The exhibition highlighted the importance of scientific research and its impact on society, sparking curiosity and inspiring students to pursue careers in science and technology.
The students were provided with a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge science and technology. It was a truly enriching experience that has ignited their passion for exploration and discovery.
The visit to the Survey of India's exhibition not only expanded students' knowledge but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the contributions of Indian scientists to the global scientific community. The Director of the School Mrs Ruchi Charak and Head of the Institute Ms Anita Bhatia applauded the efforts of the young scientists for achieving a remarkable feat by winning an amazing 11 prizes and 1st place in the Quiz organized by the Suvey of India on the memorable day.
