Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 1: Today, on March 1st, 2024, the NCC Units of Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura orchestrated a comprehensive Pulse Polio Immunization awareness campaign in Mishriwala Panchayat, marking the commencement of a three-day long initiative from March 1st to March 3rd, 2024. The primary objective of this initiative was to disseminate vital information regarding the upcoming Pulse Polio immunization drive scheduled by the Department of Health, Government of India, on March 3rd, 2024.
The theme for this year's polio drive, "Vaccines Work for Everyone," underscores the crucial message that safe and effective immunization is imperative for safeguarding all human lives, irrespective of age, gender, location, or socio-economic status, from preventable diseases.
Under the proficient leadership of ANO Prof. (Lt.) Arun Sharma and the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Ashu Vashisht, the NCC Cadets of 2 J&K Bn. NCC, GDC Paloura, diligently visited every household in the panchayat, specifically targeting families with children below the age of five. The cadets passionately advocated for the importance of polio immunization, urging parents to ensure their children receive the polio drops at the nearest booth on March 3rd, 2024.
The initiative serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment of GDC Paloura towards community welfare and public health. By actively engaging in raising awareness about the polio immunization drive, the college demonstrates its dedication to promoting a healthier and safer environment for all members of society.
As the Pulse Polio awareness programme unfolds over the next three days, GDC Paloura remains steadfast in its resolve to empower communities with knowledge and resources to combat preventable diseases effectively. Through collaborative efforts and steadfast determination, the college endeavors to contribute towards the collective goal of achieving a polio-free nation.
The success of this initiative stands as a testament to the collective efforts of the NCC Units, faculty, and students of GDC Paloura, who tirelessly work towards the betterment of society and the well-being of its citizens.
