CyberCell recovers Rs. 2,69,570 in online fraud cases

UDHAMPUR, Mar 1: The CyberCell Unit of District Police Udhampur, spearheaded by PSI Kulbhushan Singh, has once again demonstrated its prowess in combating cybercrime by successfully recovering a substantial sum of Rs. 2,69,570 in defrauded funds. Since its inception, the CyberCell has been steadfast in its mission to safeguard citizens from digital threats.
With a total of 35 complaints received by the CyberCell, the majority, 30 complaints, pertained to financial frauds, while 5 complaints were related to social media crimes. Of these, 5 complaints have been resolved, and the others are currently under investigation.
The Cyber Investigation Team, through relentless determination and advanced skills, meticulously pursued each case, leading to the successful freezing of the defrauded funds. This significant achievement underscores the expertise, dedication, and tireless efforts of the CyberCell in protecting citizens from online scams and frauds.
SSP Udhampur, Shri Joginder Singh-JKPS, reiterated the importance of citizen vigilance and prompt reporting of any suspicious online activities to the National Helpline Number 1930. He urged citizens to utilize the online complaint platform at www.cybercrime.gov.in to report cybercrimes effectively.
