GDC Paloura Launches Activities under 'Mera Pahla Vote Desh Ke Liye' Campaign

JAMMU, Mar 2: The Electoral Literacy Club of Government Degree College Paloura, in collaboration with IQAC and the Department of History, inaugurated its activities under the 'Mera Pahla Vote Desh Ke Liye' campaign with an Extension Lecture on the theme. The event was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of the college.
The Extension Lecture, aimed at sensitizing students, especially first-time voters, was delivered by Prof. Amit Bhalla from the Department of Political Science. Prof. Bhalla highlighted the significance of electoral rights and stressed the importance of voting and making informed choices. The lecture's main objective was to encourage maximum participation of young voters in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections - 2024.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of the college, urged students to disseminate information about the voting process to strengthen Indian democracy. He emphasized the pivotal role of youth in shaping the nation's future through active participation in the electoral process.
The event witnessed a large turnout of students and faculty members, demonstrating widespread interest and enthusiasm among the college community towards the campaign's objectives.
The activities initiated under the 'Mera Pahla Vote Desh Ke Liye' campaign at GDC Paloura reflect the institution's commitment to promoting democratic values and fostering civic engagement among its students.
