GDC Samba organizes Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition

SAMBA, Mar 2: The NSS Unit MAITRI of SPPND Govt. Degree College Samba recently organized a Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition on the theme "Nothing like Voting: I Vote for Sure" in the adopted village Balore. The competition aimed to emphasize the importance of voting in shaping society's future and creating awareness regarding electoral participation. Participants exhibited their artistic talents through visually impressive posters and impactful slogans, highlighting the significance of voting in a democracy. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, showcasing their creativity and commitment to civic engagement. In the Poster Making Category, Palvi Devi of Semester-2 secured the first position, followed by Taranjeet Kour of Semester-2 in the second position. Palvi Salaria and Nikhil Lalotra of Semester-6 shared the third position. In the Slogan Writing Category, Riya Devi of Semester-6 clinched the first place, with Kasak Sharma of Semester-2 securing the second position and Arun Singh of Semester-6 securing the third position. The event was adjudged by esteemed personalities from the local community, including Sunil Chaudhary (Ex-Sarpanch) of village Balore, Sh. Girdhari Lal (Retired Lecturer in English) from the School Education Department, and Sh. Sardar Singh (Retired Subedaar Major from Army). Their expertise and insights added value to the competition. The event aimed to promote civic engagement and democratic values among community members, fostering a sense of responsibility towards active participation in the electoral process. Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the NSS Programme Officer and volunteers for their dedication and contribution towards organizing such a meaningful event. Their efforts play a vital role in nurturing socially responsible citizens and building a vibrant democratic society.
