| GDC RS Pura organizes Voter Awareness campaign | | |  Early Times Report
RS PURA, Mar 2: The NSS and NCC unit of GDC R. S. Pura organised a comprehensive Voter Awareness campaign - Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye in the college premises on Saturday under the banner of Viksit Bharat and to ensure universal enlightened participation of youth in elections. The main objective of the campaign is to engage and encourage young voters to come out and vote and to convey the importance of voting for the larger good of the nation.The event was held under the guidance and patronship of Dr. Rajni Bhagat, Principal of the College.The highlight of the day was the solemn pledge taken by students to exercise their voting rights responsibly in the upcoming elections, reaffirming their commitment to democracy and nation-building. Dr. Rajni Bhagat , Principal of the college delivered an inspiring address emphasising the importance of youth involvement in shaping the nation's future.She exhorted that it is a method for citizens to express what they want from their leaders by raising awareness about voting. This will lead to better governance and what everyone wants - a democracy that is free, fair and representative. She further added that voting helps citizens become more involved in their government and keep it accountable.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch and co-coordinated by Dr. Hari Singh. The students enthusiastically participated in the initiative aimed at promoting social awareness and active citizenship.Among the distinguished whose support and mentorship have been invaluable in organizing today's events were Prof. Shifali Abrol, Prof Sankait Gupta and Prof Shelly Kalsi. |
