Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 2: The two-day course on "Ethics and Soft Skills," which commenced on 1st March 2024 at the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), reached its conclusion today. A total of 18 officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police actively participated in this enriching training program.
Eminent guest faculty members from various academic institutions were invited to share their expertise and deliver lectures tailored to the course's context. Additionally, the Academy's faculty contributed by sharing their own experiences, focusing on the significance of ethics and soft skills as essential tools for conflict resolution.
Given their crucial role as first responders in the criminal justice system, the training emphasized the importance of police officers treating crime victims and complainants with patience, sympathy, and promptness. It underscored the importance of showing compassion and respect towards victims, ensuring they have access to justice mechanisms and necessary assistance. The course delved into the broad dynamics of police-public interaction, stressing the indispensable role of trust in fostering mutual coexistence and community safety.
A valediction function marked the culmination of the course, with Sh. Rakesh Sambyal, Chief Prosecuting Officer at SKPA, gracing the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he advised the participants to adopt a people-friendly approach and encouraged them to share the knowledge gained during the course with their fellow police personnel.
The coordination of the course was commendably handled by Shri Sandeep Mahajan, Inspector, with valuable assistance from Sub-Inspector Sukhvir Singh, who served as a faculty member.
The successful conclusion of the "Ethics and Soft Skills" course underscores SKPA's commitment to providing comprehensive training to J&K Police officers, equipping them with the necessary skills and ethical values to effectively serve and protect the community.
