A customer being cheated has sparked unease among Credit Card holders of a leading bank
On the 24th of February , Puneet Singh unwittingly fell victim to fraud in the process.
With alarming precision, the caller proceeded to extract One-Time Passwords (OTPs) from Singh.
The fraudulent caller succeeded in siphoning Rs 98,237 from Singh’s account.
y gaining his trust by divulging sensitive banking information such as credit balances, nominee details, address, date of birth, and other critical data associated with each card.
This manipulative tactic fostered a false sense of security within Singh, ultimately resulting in the compromise of his personal financial information.
In a distressing turn of events, Singh unwittingly disclosed sensitive information and provided OTPs sent to his registered number to the fraudulent caller, resulting in the wrongful deduction of a substantial sum of Rs. 98,237 from his account.
Disturbingly, investigations have revealed that the toll-free number purportedly belonging to the bank Credit Card services operates unilaterally, disallowing incoming calls. This apparent contradiction raises significant questions about the legitimacy of the call received by Singh.
