KATHUA, Mar 4: Government Degree College (Boys) Kathua witnessed a dynamic confluence of civic engagement and intellectual discourse as NSS Units, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, organized a Symposium and Pledge ceremony under the "Mera Pehla Vote, Desh ke liye" campaign. Guided by the esteemed Principal of the college, Professor Seema Mir, the event aimed to instill a sense of civic responsibility among the student populace.
The proceedings commenced with a solemn Pledge ceremony, where participants vowed to exercise their democratic right to vote, viewing it as a pivotal contribution to the vision of a New India. They further pledged to inspire their fellow citizens to actively participate in the electoral process, thereby fortifying the democratic fabric of the nation.
Following the pledge, an engaging Symposium unfolded, spearheaded by enthusiastic NSS Volunteers Ikra Kousar, Shivani, and Mansha. Delving into the chosen topic with fervor and insight, the volunteers elucidated its nuances, igniting thought-provoking discussions among the attendees.
Dr. Pinkey, NSS Program Officer, and Prof. Charandeep Handa, HOD Commerce, played instrumental roles in orchestrating the program, ensuring its seamless execution. Their efforts were complemented by the supervision of Dr. Kulbir Singh and Prof. Arvind Kumar, NSS Program Officers of the college, who provided invaluable guidance throughout the event.
The Symposium and Pledge ceremony stood as poignant reminders of the pivotal role of civic participation in shaping the destiny of the nation.
