GDC Vijaypur organises seminar

JAMMU, Mar 4: Department of Education, Government Degree College Vijaypur in collaboration with NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of the college under the banner of Voting Awareness Campaign organised a seminar on the theme, "Importance of Voting in a Democracy" under the supervision and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College. More than hundred college students and NSS volunteers participated in the seminar with great enthusiasm, fervour and zeal. The aim of the event was to aware students about the importance to voting in a democracy.
The seminar started with the welcome address by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary. She briefed the students that voting in a democracy is of utmost importance as it lets citizens choose their representatives in forming the government. Dr. Radhika Rasyal while speaking on the occasion stated that voting and taking part in the electoral process is more than a right and made sure that all the students of the college register themselves for the upcoming elections. It's a responsibility that each citizen holds to select their leaders.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Mamta Gupta, Dr. Anoop Bhagat, Prof. Ritu Bhagat and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary and co-ordinated by Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo, Dr. Radhika Rasyal, Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal and Prof. Renuka Kundal.
