Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Mar 4: In a spirited display of civic engagement, NSS volunteers and students of Government Degree College Ramban embraced their role as active citizens by spearheading an innovative campaign titled 'Mera Pehla Vote, Desh ke Liye' (My First Vote for the Nation). The initiative saw the creation of a designated 'Selfie Point' within the college premises, adorned with vibrant paintings and impactful taglines, such as 'Mera pahela vote Desh ka Liya' (My first vote for the nation) and 'Chunav ka parv Desh ka Gaurav' (Election festival, pride of the nation).
A multitude of NSS volunteers, students, faculty, and staff members, many of whom were first-time voters, converged at the selfie point to capture moments of significance and celebrate their newfound role in shaping the nation's future. Through the act of taking selfies, participants not only commemorated their journey into active citizenship but also disseminated crucial awareness about the importance of electoral participation among their peers.
The brainchild of Prof. Ram Parkash and executed under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay Kumar, NSS Program Officer, the event exemplified the college's unwavering commitment to fostering democratic values and encouraging civic engagement among the youth. Prof. Satish Kumar, Principal in charge of the college, provided overarching mentorship, ensuring the seamless execution of the initiative.
This commendable endeavor underscores the pivotal role that educational institutions play in nurturing responsible citizens and fortifying the democratic fabric of our nation. By empowering students to recognize the significance of their votes, Government Degree College Ramban has taken a significant stride towards shaping a more participatory and informed electorate for the future.
