Menstrual hygiene awareness at Udhampur

JAMMU, Mar 4: J&K Bank is thrilled to share a significant achievement in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) collaboration with Live for Others - Being Helpful Foundation. The initiative, known as "Mission R-SAP (Remove Shyness Apply Pads)," is dedicated to fostering awareness about menstrual hygiene and its taboo in society. It involves the distribution of over 500,000 sanitary napkins and the facilitation of over 100 awareness seminars across all 20 districts of Jammu & Kashmir. The overarching objective is to reach 50,000 individuals, challenging societal taboos surrounding menstruation in our society.
Udhampur, as the 19th district to successfully conclude this mission, witnessed the distribution of sanitary napkins over 33,500 and the delivery of nine impactful awareness lectures, engaging over approx 3700 people. These seminars were conducted in various schools and college of Udhampur, such as Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Udhampur ; Govt. Higher Secondary School, Barolla ; Govt. Higher Secondary School, Tikri ; Govt; Higher Secondary School, Chiryai ; Govt. High School, Mand ; Govt. High School, Hartayan & GDC Neeli Nallah and community session were also conducted in Cheeri and Tikri with the support of Department of Mission Shakti Udhampur. The resource persons for these seminars included Ms. Jyoti & Ms. Stuti Abrol.
Vishal Singh, Co-Founder & COO, expressed excitement about the positive impact of 'Mission R-SAP' on women's health, as women and girls are now being more open and comfortable in having conversation regarding the taboo and myths in society.
