15 day certificate course on "Integrated Nutrient Management" concludes at KVK

JAMMU, Mar 4: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch working under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu, completed 15 days certificate course on "Integrated Nutrient Management (INM)" for Input dealers. Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director Extension, SKUAST-J, today interacted virtually with the participants of Certificate Course and congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training course. Speaking to the participants, Dr Vaid said that the dealers/retailers are an important link between company and farmers and key change agents in motivating the farmers to use fertilizers in a balanced manner.
He also highlighted the role of dealers who in addition to running their businesses may actually help the farmers to use the particular fertilizers based upon the soil and crop requirement. He appreciated the efforts of KVK Poonch for conducting this certificate course on INM for new input dealers.
He also interacted with the participants of 03 days Training programme on Credit Link Beneficiaries under PMFME scheme conducted at KVK Poonch w.e.f 04 to 06 March 2024. Earlier, Dr. Ajay Gupta Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK Poonch welcomed the chief guest and other scientists in the valedictory function of the course. He apprised that twenty eight rural youth, progressive farmers and members of co-operative societies participated in the Course. During the training programme, 32 lectures regarding organic and inorganic fertilizers, soil types, soil health card, fertilizer control order etc. were organized which will ensure that input dealers have the knowledge regarding the various types of fertilizers and their recommended dose for different crops. Dr Gupta said that the main objective of certificate course was that no unauthorized person shall be allowed to sell the fertilizers in illegal and inappropriate manner. Participants also expressed their satisfaction with the knowledge and exposure they got during lectures and interaction with the experts from KVK-Poonch, officers of line departments and representatives of IFFCO. The Programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ramandeep Kour.
