Cybercrime investigation cell recovers Rs 4 lakhs

Jammu, Mar 4: In a significant development, the Cybercrime Investigation Cell of District Police Kishtwar has successfully recovered a total amount of Rs. 4,06,663 in online defrauded funds. This accomplishment underscores the unit's steadfast commitment to combatting cybercrime and ensuring justice for victims.
The reports revealed that numerous complaints were received regarding various online scams. These scams ranged from deceptive gaming apps like YONO 777 to fraudulent activities involving popular platforms such as Jio recharge App, Credit card bills, GSM recharge, Flipkart App, AnyDesk, Awas Yojna, Netflix, QR Code, and several other malicious links circulated through social media apps.
Upon receiving these complaints, the dedicated team of the CIC of District Police Kishtwar promptly initiated action. They collaborated closely with concerned banks and UPI apps to gather essential details regarding the online defrauded amounts. Through meticulous teamwork and concerted efforts, the CIC successfully traced and recovered the entirety of the defrauded funds of Rs 4,06,663, ensuring that justice was served and victims were compensated.
