ALL SET FOR LAUNCH OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CAMPAIGN

Leh, September 20,2006.
All is set for the launch of five day long Public Information Campaign at Leh(Ladakh).The five day long Campaign under Central Government’s Bharat Nirman Programme is being organized by Press Information Bureau, Government of India, Jammu in collaboration with various Media units of Information and Broadcasting Ministry viz Directorate of Field Publicity, Song and Drama Division, Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity(DAVP), All India Radio and Doordarshan.
The five day long Public Information Campaign will be held at Polo Ground, Leh and will be inaugurated by Chief Executive Councilor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council(LAHDC), Sh.Tsering Dorjee on 21st September,2006. During the five day long campaign, many State Government Ministers will be visiting the Campaign site. The Campaign will conclude on 25th September.
During the Campaign period, various departments of State and Central Government including Banks, Army, CRPF, ITBP and local Police will be putting up their stalls at the venue site to showcase their products and highlight their achievements. At these stalls information regarding important Central Government programmes along-with demonstration and detailed information on how to avail the benefits under the programmes will be made available to people.

The five day long campaign will disseminate information to the targeted beneficiaries focusing on the flagship programmes of the Central Government. Enhanced awareness of the Flagship programmes of the Central Government will be created through a multi-media approach like holding of workshops, seminars, symposia etc by media units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
The main purpose of Public Information Campaign is to create awareness and disseminate information about the flagship programmes of the Central Government. This five day long Public Information is the second such campaign being held in J&K State and is the first such Campaign being held in Leh(Ldakh). The first such campaign in J&K State recently concluded successfully at Kishtwar(Doda) which was inaugurated by Hon’ble J&K Chief Minister, Sh.Ghulam Nabi Azad.
