GDC Khour launches 20-day skill training program for female candidates on Yoga

KHOUR, Mar 6: Government Degree College (GDC) Khour commenced its 20-day Skill Development Programme focusing on Yoga for female candidates with an inaugural ceremony held on March 6th, 2024. Organized by the Skill Development Committee, the event saw the participation of faculty members, committee members, and students of the college.
The session commenced with a welcoming note delivered by Dr. Tasleem, introducing the resource person, Dr. Ranjana Verma, Assistant Professor from the Department of Yoga at Central University of Jammu. Dr. Verma emphasized the contemporary relevance of Yoga and its benefits for physical and mental well-being, particularly among young females who are susceptible to various challenges. She encouraged students and staff to integrate Yoga into their daily routines.
Dr. Verma conducted a demonstration of several yoga poses, engaging students in interactive learning. The enthusiastic response from the 50 participating students reflected their interest in developing personality, confidence, and concentration through Yoga.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Jozafeen Afzal, Dr. Anjana Sharma, Prof. Khalid Bohra, Prof. Shivani Sharma, Dr. Sapna, and Prof. Sunil Kumar. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Reeta Menia, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for their contributions to the successful commencement of the program.
