SAMBA, Mar 7: To combat illegal mining, the District Administration Samba, under the steadfast guidance of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma has taken stringent measures against the perpetrators of the unlawful trade. Vinay Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), along with the dedicated personnel of the Samba Police, have collaborated with the Geology and Mining team to intensify efforts in monitoring and curbing illegal extraction, unauthorized dumping, and transportation of minerals without payment of royalty.
Today, a joint operation conducted by the Geology and Mining Enforcement Team, led by the District Mining Officer (DMO), resulted in the seizure of one JCB and three vehicles involved in illegal mining activities. Beside this, three vehicles were seized by different police stations of Samba. This operation underscores the administration's unwavering commitment to curb the menace of illegal mining in the region. |
