RAJOURI, Mar 8: District Administration Rajouri, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, today celebrated the International Women's Day under the theme "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress."
The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat and it was aimed to celebrate the invaluable contributions of women to society and shed light on the imperative need to empower them for accelerated societal advancement.
Throughout the event, a number of impassioned speakers took the stage to underscore the significance of International Women's Day. They listed the myriad of Government schemes exclusively tailored to uplift and empower women socially and economically.
In his address, the District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt outlined a number of government schemes and programs specifically designed for the welfare and empowerment of women. With conviction, he urged women to seize the opportunity and actively engage with these initiatives to secure their rightful benefits.
During the event, the ASP, Musadiq Majid Basu and ADC Rajouri, Rajeev Kumar Khajuria delivered inspiring speeches, emphasizing the crucial role of women in the society. They reiterated the commitment of the police and civil administration to ensure the safety, empowerment, and equal opportunities for women, while also encouraging greater participation and leadership from women in all spheres of life.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, in his address, eloquently articulated the pivotal role of various initiatives taken by the Government in fostering women's self-reliance and ensuring their dignified integration into society.
Deputy Commissioner accentuated the multifaceted support provided by the Social Welfare Department. He emphasized the tangible impact of these initiatives, with a significant number of beneficiaries availing themselves of the myriad benefits offered.
The DC also emphasized the collective responsibility to create an inclusive and equitable society where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the community.
The event served as a poignant reminder of the ongoing journey towards gender parity and the indispensable role of collaborative efforts in realizing this vision.
In addition to celebrating the broader theme of International Women's Day, the event also served as a platform to honor and felicitate women achievers from various fields.
