| Bankers Committee meeting at Kathua | | |

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 26- To review the performance under various government sponsored schemes, a block level Bankers committee meeting was held at Lead bank office Kathua today.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Mr. R.K. Gupta presided.
DDM, NABARD, Mr. L.R. Dogra, Lead Bank Officer, Mr. M.P. Sharma, Project Officer, DRDA, Deputy Director Employment, Kathua, Bankers and officers of line departments were present in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress of various government sponsored programmes such as SGSY, PMEGP JKSES, SJSRY, Handloom, Handicrafts schemes sponsored by development agencies to various bank branches functioning in Kathua district up to the month of December, 2008.
While reviewing the performance, the ADDC, Mr. Gupta enjoined upon various functionaries to work in coordination to achieve the targets set under Annual Action Plan for the financial year, 2008-09. Mr. Gupta asked the bankers and the line departments to work in perfect coordination to achieve the targets under various Government sponsored schemes meant for upliftment of poor people. He emphasized on the need for issuing Kissan Credit Cards to all the eligible farmers. It was observed in the meeting that the achievements registered so far was to the tune of 50% only.
DDM, NABARD also shared information on various government sponsored schemes being implemented for the benefit of people residing in inaccessible areas.
