International Women’s Day celebrated at Police Station Akhnoor.

Akhnoor, Mar 8: International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Akhnoor Police Station on Friday, for which a special program was organized. During the program, the cake was cut mainly by the social worker Kuldeep Kaur and the students present. After which all the women present congratulated each other. During this, SP Rural Brijesh Sharma, SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma, Police Station Incharge Tariq Ahmed were also present. Kuldeep Kaur present in the program expressed her views and created awareness about women’s rights and shared her achievements with the schoolgirls and all the women present. Addressing the students and women present in the program, SP Brijesh Sharma said that the objective of this day is to respect women and give them equal status in the society. International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 to make people of the society aware about women empowerment.

He said There a special Women Help Desk is establidhed in every police station where women police cops will listen to the cases related to women. During this period, women policemen who did excellent work were also honored by the SP Rural. During the programme, women and students shared their experiences.
