Govt PG College Rajouri hosts career counseling session for outgoing biotechnology students

RAJOURI, Mar 9: On 9th March 2024, the Department of Biotechnology at Govt. P.G. College Rajouri organized a career counseling session aimed at guiding outgoing students towards various opportunities and entrance examinations post-graduation. Under the auspices of Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, the Principal of the College, the event was a significant initiative to prepare students for their future endeavors.
Distinguished scientist and local luminary, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Director of the Centre for Molecular Biology, School of Life Sciences, Central University of Jammu, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker. The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Azhar Javed, Head of the Biotechnology Department, setting the tone for an enlightening discourse.
During his lecture, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed enlightened the students about ongoing research in his department and shared his personal journey, motivating the students with his success story. He emphasized the importance of post-graduation entrance exams such as GAT-B for securing admissions into prestigious institutions across the country. A lively question and answer session ensued, with active participation from a large number of students.
In his remarks, Principal Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad commended Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed for his valuable contribution and dedication to educating and counseling students, particularly those from remote areas. The event witnessed the presence of heads of various departments and faculty members, underscoring its significance in the academic community.
The program drew to a close with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Salim Ayaz Rather, Head of Zoology Department, expressing gratitude to all involved in making the session a success. The career counseling session not only provided valuable insights and guidance to the outgoing students but also underscored the college's commitment to fostering academic and professional development among its students.
