JAMMU, FEBRUARY 26- District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari today convened a meeting of Health, Education, R&B, Horticulture, Soil Conservation, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Rural Development, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Forests, Sericulture, Handicrafts, Handloom departments officers to review the physical and financial achievements made under district plan, NABARD, AIBP and under others various sectors. Additional District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Superintendent Engineer, R&B, Chief Planning Officer, Jammu, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, Programme Officer, Jammu and other officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that the construction work of Primary Health Centre Rehal has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 47.09 lakh besides Primary Health Centre building at Gole Gujral would be completed by March 10 at a cost of Rs. 70.40 lakh. Regarding repair of sanitary system and construction of operation theatre of sub-district hospital Akhnoor, the meeting informed that both the ongoing construction works have been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 12 lakh. It was also given out in the meeting that repair, construction of X-ray block of PHC Chowki Choura, Akhnoor has been completed at a cost of Rs. 10.60 lakh besides the construction work of PHC building at Kathar is under progress, the work would be completed within stipulated time frame. Additional accommodation of UHC at Shastri Nagar, Jammu, the meeting informed that work has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 lakh. Under district plan, the government has sanctioned Rs. 322.70 lakh for 45 schemes out of which Rs. 137.54 lakh has been spent for construction of 21 culverts. Under NABARD, Rs. 612.33 lakh was released for implementation of 30 schemes in various areas of Jammu city out of which Rs. 597.70 lakh has already been spent on construction of 9 culverts. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhandari asked the officers of various departments to complete the ongoing works of their respective departments within prescribed time frame by using government funding judiciously and submit the detail of works and funds by March 15, 2009. He asked them to personally monitor the development works, which were started under NABARD, BADP and district plan sectors and use quality material in their construction.
