| Discussions on Governor’s address in LC begins | | |

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 26 – The Legislative Council today began discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s Address, Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak introduced the Motion which was seconded by Mr. Mohammed Yousuf Taing.
Initiating the discussion on the Motion, S. Arvinder Singh Micky supported the pro-people policies of the Government mentioned in the Address. He welcomed the resolve of the Government for completing all development projects undertaken in different areas of the State. He underscored the need for implementing in toto the Prime Minister’s 15-point Programme for the welfare of minority communities. He laid stress on the construction of flats for Doda migrants and providing them relief at par with Kashmiri migrants.
Mr. Mohammed Rashid Qureshi, while welcoming the Address, stressed on implementation of Rangarajan Committee recommendations for Dul Hasti Power project. He also demanded enhancement in salaries of Rehbar-e-Taleem and Rehbar-e-Khail employees. Mr. Qureshi pleaded for implementing Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (APDRP) in every nook and corner for augmenting the power infrastructure in the State. He also asked for implementing Rajiv Grameen Vidyut Kiran Yojana wherein all the remote areas of the State are to be provided electricity.
