SK Police Academy Udhampur initiates two crucial training courses

UDHAMPUR, Mar 11: Today marks the inception of two pivotal courses at the S.K Police Academy in Udhampur, catering to the evolving landscape of law enforcement. The first course, spanning five days, delves into the intricacies of New Criminal Laws, while the second, also a five-day program, focuses on "Investigation Cyber Crime (i4C)," sponsored by the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. A total of 72 officers and officials, ranging from Constable to Dy.SsP, hailing from various State Police and J&K Police, are actively engaged in these immersive learning experiences.
The primary objective of the cybercrime investigation course is to augment participants' proficiency in probing cybercrime and cyber fraud cases. Over the course of five days, attendees will immerse themselves in understanding the nuances of cybercrime implications, legal countermeasures, and acquire expertise in Cyber Forensics and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for cybercrime investigation.
An inaugural function was conducted at SKPA, graced by Sh. Garib Dass, IPS, ADGP, Director of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, who presided as the chief guest. In his welcome address, Garib Dass extended a cordial welcome to all participants, emphasizing the imperative of equipping law enforcement officials with requisite skills to combat cybercrimes effectively.
Concurrently, another inaugural function unfolded at SKPA, with Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor), serving as the chief guest. Shri Gupta underscored the importance of the training in confronting contemporary challenges in law enforcement and elucidated on the comparisons between old and new laws, reaffirming SKPA's commitment to providing pertinent training to its personnel. The 5-day course on new criminal laws aims to furnish participants with a holistic comprehension of recent legal amendments, accentuating significant changes. Interactive discussions are facilitating comparisons between old and new laws, enhancing comprehension and application, thereby ensuring personnel remain at the forefront of law enforcement practices.
The inaugural sessions were attended by distinguished guests including Rakesh Sambyal, CPO, Ashish Gupta, Dy.SP, Asstt. Director (R&D), and Sukhvir Singh, Dy.SP, Asstt. Director (Admn), alongside the faculty of SKPA. The courses are meticulously coordinated by Inspr. Rohit Gupta and Inspr. Paramjeet Singh, assisted by dedicated staff members, reflecting SKPA's commitment to comprehensive and relevant training methodologies.
