GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur organizes one day AYUSH Health and Wellness Camp

UDHAMPUR, Mar 11: Today on 11th of March 2023, GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur organized one day AYUSH Health and Wellness Camp in collaboration with Directorate of Ayush, J&K District AYUSH Officer Udhampur under the able guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, Principal of the college. The programme started with key note address by Principal of the college. He emphasized that Ayurvedic medicine system is pure Indian system of medicine. He urged the students to promote the Ayurvedic medicine system by adapting it in their day to day life as the ayurvedic medicines system is the oldest one and medicines having no side effect. Dr. Rajesh Gupta, (MD), resource person gave a detailed view of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre. He said that the centre is meant for empowering masses for self care to reduce the disease burden, out of pocket expenditure. The Centre also provides free essential medicines and diagnostic services, teleconsultation and health promotion including wellness activities like Yoga. Dr. Vilakshi Jamwal (MO), another resource person during her lecture said that we should follow wellness activities like weight loss exercise, stress management and take care of the body by maintaining an amount of physical activity that is required for good health but not enough to cause fatigue. She also provided tips to the girl students what type of ayurvedic medicines to be used during their mensuration cycle and also urged the students not to consume fast food which is affecting the fertility rate upto greater extent. During the camp free Immunity Booster medicines like Chyawanprash, Tulsi, Iron and calcium tablets were distributed among the students and the staff. A large number of students attended the camp. The whole programme was organised by Prof. Rekha Sharma, Asstt. Prof. in Dogri. Others present in the event were Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Dr. Mahima Bhagat, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Dr. Akhter Hussain, Dr. Muntazir Ahmed Bhat and Swati Sharma.
