Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 11: In a swift operation conducted by the vigilant Night Police Party of PP Sidhra, led by I/C PP Sidhra PSI Arun Sharma, under the watchful supervision of SDPO Nagrota Aakash Kohli and SHO Nagrota Insp Rajeshwar Singh, a significant breakthrough was achieved in combating illegal transportation of animals. During routine vehicle checks near Tawi bridge Sidhra, the police intercepted two trucks, uncovering a distressing reality. The first vehicle, bearing registration No. JK02BG-6095, was driven by Anwar Hussain, son of Mohd Gami from Vijaypur Samba. Upon inspection, it was found to be loaded with 12 Bovine animals. Anwar Hussain was promptly arrested, ensuring accountability for his alleged involvement in illegal transportation. Simultaneously, another truck, with registration No. JK02BK-4672, was also stopped. However, the driver managed to evade capture, disappearing into the cover of darkness. This vehicle, too, was laden with 12 Bovine animals, further indicating a concerted effort in animal trafficking. The combined efforts of the police team led to the rescue of a total of 24 bovine animals, preventing their potential exploitation and ensuring their safety. Additionally, both vehicles involved in the illicit activity were seized, marking a significant blow to such unlawful practices. In response to the incident, FIRs have been lodged - FIR No. 79/2024 and FIR No. 80/2024 under sections 188/IPC 11 PCA, 50/52/54/56 Transport of animal rule, at P/S Nagrota. Investigations into the matter have been promptly initiated, reflecting the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold justice and combat animal trafficking. This successful operation stands as a testament to the dedication and efficiency of the Night Police Party of PP Sidhra and underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in combating illegal activities within the community.
