| 264 km of NH be upgraded | | | New Delhi, Feb 26 : The Government today approved a proposal to upgrade 264 km of National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir. This is part of the North-South corridor on the Srinagar-Jammu section, Home Minister P Chidambaram said after the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) that gave the approval. ''Whichever section gets the DPR approval and environmental clearance first, road construction will be taken up there,'' he said. ''Our intention is to complete the vital road in Jammu and Kashmir,'' the Home Minister said. He said approval was also given for the four-laning of four projects in Kerala and one in Tamil Nadu on PPP mode.
