Jammu Police makes significant drug seizure in Domana, one arrested

Jammu, Mar 12: In a decisive move against drug peddling, the Jammu Police took swift action resulting in the apprehension of a drug peddler and the seizure of contraband in Domana. On March 11, 2024, a police team from Police Station Domana, led by SHO Inspector Arun Sharma and assisted by PSI Murtaza Rehman, conducted vehicle checks at Domana Naka.
During the operation, Abdul Hamid, a motorcycle rider hailing from Javed Nagar Nikki Tawi Jammu, was intercepted along with his motorcycle bearing registration number JK02DG-8255. Upon inspection, the police recovered 4 grams of Heroin, a psychotropic substance, and cash amounting to ₹30,450 from his possession.
Abdul Hamid was promptly arrested, and a case FIR No. 53/2024 U/S 08/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Domana. The operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Domana, Sh. Mudassir Hussain (JKPS), and SP Rural, Sh. Brijesh Sharma (JKPS).
The vigilant efforts of the Jammu Police have received praise from the local community for their continuous and relentless endeavors in combating the drug menace, which significantly impacts the local youth. The Jammu Police have called upon the civil society to collaborate and provide support by sharing valuable information about individuals involved in the trade and supply of narcotic substances.
