Prominent political & social activist Jatinder Singh Lucky embraces National Conference

JAMMU, Mar 12: In a significant development, Sardar Jatinder Singh Lucky, a prominent figure in both political and social circles and former Vice Chairman of Cantonment Board Jammu, has officially joined the National Conference, along with hundreds of his supporters.
The momentous joining ceremony transpired at the residence of Dr. Farooq Abdullah in Bathindi, Jammu, in the esteemed presence of Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister and Vice President of the National Conference, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, former minister and Additional General Secretary, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary Jammu, and Shafqat Watali, Ex-IGP and senior leader of JKNC.
Omar Abdullah warmly welcomed S. Jatinder Singh Lucky and his associates into the National Conference fold, expressing confidence that their inclusion will fortify the party's grassroots and invigorate efforts for the restoration of democratic rights in Jammu & Kashmir.
He particularly highlighted the revered contributions of the late S. TS Wazir and expressed optimism that S. Jatinder Singh Lucky would effectively carry forward his legacy, underscoring Lucky's advocacy for the concerns, including the reservation for the minority Sikh community in J&K.
Omar Abdullah stressed the paramountcy of bolstering the party's base at the grassroots level and urged S. Jatinder Singh Lucky and the newly joined members to actively engage in public forums, addressing the common issues confronting the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Moreover, he underscored the importance of accessibility to the public and urged the new members to maintain visibility within their communities, attentively listening to the grievances of the people and striving towards viable solutions.
Reiterating the National Conference's unwavering commitment to democracy, secularism, and communal harmony, Omar Abdullah emphasized that by earnestly connecting with the public and tackling their concerns, the party can further cement its support base and contribute significantly to the region's progress.
Commencing the proceedings, Shafqat Watali introduced S. Jatinder Singh Lucky and his associates to the senior party leadership, emphasizing the imperative of unifying the people of Jammu & Kashmir in upholding democratic values and secularism in the region.
Expressing his gratitude, S. Jatinder Singh Lucky thanked Mr. Omar Abdullah and the entire senior leadership of the NC for embracing him into the National Conference. He passionately addressed various pressing issues of the Jammu region, including discrimination against the minority Sikh community, unemployment, and the political uncertainty prevailing since August 5, 2019.
S. Jatinder Singh Lucky also commended the contributions of esteemed figures such as Budh Singh Tyagi, S.H.S Azad, S. Harbans Singh, S.H.S. Bali, and S. T.S. Wazir to the National Conference, pledging to fortify the party at the grassroots level.
Among those who joined the party ranks were S. Charan Jeet Singh, S. Mohinder Singh, S. Iqbal Singh, Sunita Kour, Surjeet Singh, Pritam Singh, Sh. Jagdish Kumar, S. Surinder Singh, S. Harmanjeet Singh, and other notable personalities from various corners of Jammu.
