| “Jammu Kashmir Festival” | | Film on Haba Khatoon Screened | | Rarest Paintings, Art attracts crowd on fifth day at JK Festival New Delhi, 26 Feb The rarest Paintings and oldest Art objects attracted crowds on the fifth day of ongoing “Jammu-Kashmir Festival” at New Delhi. A number of dignitaries, foreigner, high official from centre and state visited different three art galleries at Indira Gandhi Centre for the Arts and appreciated a number of rare works. About 100 painting and 300 Art exhibits are on display from 23rd of February as a part of eight day celebrations of J&K’s Cultural exuberance being jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Indira Gandhi Centre for Arts New Delhi. On the sideline of main event, talking to media persons Zaffar Iqbal Manhas Secretary Cultural Academy said that State Academy is sole custodian of State’s Culture and we have showcased our multicoloured ethose in New Delhi in a big and innovative way and the response from whole the country is not only encouraging but behind our expectations. He said tomorrow their will be a big show of Music-Ensemble in which 50 artists from all the region of the state sits together and perform jointly at open air theatre at Indira Gandhi Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) .He said that Stat’s Governor Sh N N Vohra will inaugurate the same. Today’s another presentations includes, Ms Sonam Spalzin Bangkolok a young archeologist’s show on Art Treasures of Ladakh region and lecture of Prof. Navjinvan Rastogi on Shavism in Kashmir were highly appreciated by the Intellectuals and Art Critics. This event was held at main Hall of IGNCA.Ravinder Kaul and Sameena Khan read out the introductories and conducted the whole proceedings of the programme. Today’s another attractions was a film on Haba Khatoon in Kashmiri directed by Bashir Badgami. This film was screened at Main studio of IGNCA. A number of film and art critics were present on the occasion.Total 35 films are being screened during the festival.Five of them were secreened today. Mushtaq Kak’s play “Ant Hazir Ho” staged at Open-air Theatre of IGNCA was attracted hundreds of viewers including theatre personalties of New Delhi.Written by famous playwright Meera Kant this was the presentation of Amateur Theatre group from Jammu. Mushtaq Kak is considered as one of leading theatre Director of India who invented new theatre techniques and popularly known for his serious work in the field of performing arts.
