| Jammu Police arrests drug peddler 18 grams of heroin recovered | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 14: Jammu Police continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society,on 13/03/2024 patrolling party of Police Station RS Pura while on routine patrolling under the jurisdiction of Police Station R.S Pura on Govt vehicle arrested on drug peddler and recovered contraband.
During patrolling police party established a naka at Agra Chak road near Shamshan Ghat for checking/frisking in the afternoon and found that one pedestrian on the way from RS Pura towards Chak Agra and the pedestrian turned around and tried to flee from the spot. The police party thereafter successfully overpowered the said pedestrian. On preliminary questioning, the said person disclosed his identity as *Mustaq Ahmed son of Zahur Hussain R/o Gujjar Basti, Kadyal Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu. On personal search of the said pedestrian, a transparent polythene packet containing Heroin (Chitta) like substance is recovered from his possession (which measured approximately 18 grams). The said accused person was arrested and contraband seized accordingly.
In this connection FIR No. 47/2024 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation is going on.
People have applauded the efforts of Jammu Police in acting taugh against drug peddlers & making all efforts to curb the drug menace in the Jammu District. |
