Horticulture Deptt organises series of Farmers’ awareness camps

KATHUA, Mar 14: Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing-District Kathua a series of awareness camps in different parts of the District to promote government schemes launched for doubling the income of the progressive growers .
The camps were organized at Panchayat Amala and Fruit & Vegetable Market Kathua on two consecutive days. A complete Know on Holistic Agricultural Development Program HADP; PMFME-ODOP; Support for Packaging, e-Nam etc was imparted to Growers, Agripreneurs, Agri Traders by the district officers of stakeholder departments
A large gathering of members of FPOs, SHGs and Cooperative Societies participated and shared their experiences and disseminated information regarding strengthening of the Agricultural Marketing.
It was impressed upon the participants to avail benefits of the flagship schemes, for which the stakeholder departments would provide adequate hand holding.
Also present on the occasion were the representatives of J&K Bank, Department Of Fisheries, Department of Cooperatives, Department of Agriculture /Horticulture.
Ex-Sarpanch Madhu Sharma and President F&V Market Kathua also spoke on the occasion. Area Marketing Officer Horticulture Planning & Marketing Kathua, Shiv Sangra has assured full cooperation to the growers of the District Kathua.
