GGM Science College, Jammu organises awareness lecture

JAMMU, Mar 15: Career Counseling and Placement Cell of G.G.M. Science College, Jammu in collaboration with NISM organizedorganised Lecture on Financial Education for young Citizenunder the patronage of worthy Principal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta and supervision of Dr. Devinder K. Sharma on15th of March 2024. The programme is designed to educate the students regarding financial literacy.
Prof. Sunita kumarimemberCareer Counselling and Placement Cell initiated the proceedings with formal welcome. Sd. Kulwant Singh, retired principal and representative from NISM, was the resource person of the event.
Sd. Kulwant Singh discussed about the need of financial literacy for young minds as it empowers them to make informed decisions, manage their money effectively and plan them for future. While deliberating about the mission, he informed the gathering that financial literacy for youth is a CSR initiative by Axis Bank in Collaboration with National Institute of securities Markets that equips youngsters with the skills needed to navigate the increasingly complex financial landscapes and avoid common pitfalls such as overspending,debt, accumulation and financial fraud
It was a very informative session. A large number of students had participated in the seminar and get benefitted from the same. The entire programme was coordinated by the faculty members namely Prof. Surinder Singh, Prof. Preeti Verma, Prof. Kiran Bala, Prof. Sunita Kumari, Prof. Arun Sharma, Prof. Sheetu Raina and Prof. Ameeq R. Choudhary. The session concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Prof. Kiran Bala.
