Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 15: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of DKR Range, Shri Shridhar Patil-IPS, visited District Ramban and presided over a crucial crime and security review meeting at PCR Ramban.
The meeting witnessed the presence of all supervisory officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) from District Ramban.
SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar-IPS, delivered a comprehensive presentation, shedding light on the overall crime and security landscape of the district. During the review, DIG DKR Range emphasized the importance of expediting the disposal of cases under investigation, including addressing backlog cases, conducting Inquest Proceedings, apprehending absconders, locating missing persons, resolving complaints, and online grievances to minimize crime pendency.
Furthermore, special emphasis was placed on combating the drug menace. Officers were urged to adopt a mission-mode approach to identify and dismantle the networks involved in drug trafficking.
This proactive stance aims to eradicate the proliferation of drugs within society thoroughly.
In addressing theft and burglary cases, DIG DKR Range urged officers to conduct meticulous investigations, exploring all angles to solve cases and recover stolen property effectively.
Supervisory officers and SHOs were directed to maintain vigilance and take proactive measures to prevent potential law and order issues. Enhanced surveillance over the activities of troublemakers, miscreants, and other anti-social elements was emphasized to curb any untoward incidents.
Additionally, supervisory officers were tasked with regularly reviewing the records of history sheeters, Over-Ground Workers (OGWs), and other suspects to categorize them appropriately. This analysis aims to identify new troublemakers and OGWs, facilitating targeted action against criminal elements.
Lastly, officers were instructed to conduct area-specific operations, including Bowl, Long Range Patrols (LRPs), Static/Rapid Patrols (SRPs), and Cordon-and-Search Operations (CASOs) to maintain law and order effectively.
