DLSA Samba hosts legal awareness programe

SAMBA, Mar 15: As per the Action plan of Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority for the month of March, 2024, the District Legal Services Authority, Samba today organized a legal awareness program to mark the observance of “World Consumer Rights Day” 2024 under the theme “Fair and Responsible AI for Consumers.”
Organised under the radiant guidance of Adnan Sayeed, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, and Pr. District and Sessions Judge, Samba, the event was held at Government Higher Secondary School(Girls), Samba.
Kulbeer Singh, Food Safety Officer was the key speaker of the programme who shared his knowledge on the subject.
Kulbeer Singh discussed the historical background of the day, Consumer Rights available to the Consumers under Consumer Protection Act 1986 as well as the different provisions of Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006. The objective of organizing the programme was to spread awareness among the students about the different Consumer Rights that exist for the masses to safeguard them from fraud, discrimination and exploitation.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Versha Anthal, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel Samba.
The program was attended by students, faculty members of Government Higher Secondary School (Girls) Samba and Pra Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.
